Classic Margarita

Ingredients

  • 50ml blanco tequila, 100% agave (1 3/4 oz)
  • 20ml Cointreau or other triple sec (2/3 oz)
  • 15ml freshly squeezed lime juice (1/2 oz)
  • Ice, for shaking
  • Garnish: half salt rim (optional), lime wheel

Instructions

  1. If using, rub a lime wedge around half the rim of a coupe or margarita glass and dip into coarse salt.
  2. Combine tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice in a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake hard until well-chilled.
  4. Strain into the prepared glass, straight up or over fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with a lime wheel.
