Cross Hatch Garlic Chicken

Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper
- 1/4 cup flour (59.1 ml)
- 3 1/2 tbsp butter (51.8 ml)
- 4–5 garlic cloves (more is better)
- 1 1/2 tbsp white wine vinegar (22.2 ml)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (14.8 ml)
- 1/3 cup maple syrup (78.9 ml)
- Chives (optional)
Instructions
- Chop garlic and set aside.
- Combine vinegar, soy, and syrup; set aside.
- Score chicken breast on one side.
- Heat skillet with 2 1/2 tbsp butter (high heat).
- Dip chicken in flour on both sides and shake off excess.
- Cook 3 minutes, flip, and cook 2 more minutes.
- Add remaining butter, vinegar/soy/syrup mixture, and garlic.
- Lower heat to medium; cook until 155°F (target 165°F).
- Serve with basmati rice and vegetables.
Wine Pairing: Fruity White (Riesling) — Garlic-maple glaze pairs well with Riesling.
