Whiskey Sour

Ingredients

  • 45ml bourbon whiskey (1 1/2 oz)
  • 25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (3/4 oz)
  • 20ml simple syrup (2/3 oz)
  • Few drops of egg white (optional, for a silky foam)
  • Ice, for shaking
  • Garnish: brandied cherry and an orange slice

Instructions

  1. Combine bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white (if using) in a shaker.
  2. If using egg white, dry-shake (no ice) hard for 10 seconds to emulsify.
  3. Add ice and shake hard again until well-chilled.
  4. Strain into a chilled coupe, or serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass.
  5. Garnish with a brandied cherry and an orange slice.
