Ingredients

  • 50ml Cognac (1 3/4 oz)
  • 20ml Cointreau (2/3 oz)
  • 20ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (2/3 oz)
  • Ice, for shaking
  • Garnish: sugar rim (optional), orange twist

Instructions

  1. If using, rub a lemon wedge around the rim of a chilled coupe and dip in fine sugar.
  2. Combine Cognac, Cointreau, and lemon juice in a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake hard until well-chilled.
  4. Strain into the prepared coupe.
  5. Express an orange twist over the drink and drop it in.
