Paper Plane

Ingredients

  • 22ml bourbon whiskey (3/4 oz)
  • 22ml Aperol (3/4 oz)
  • 22ml Amaro Nonino Quintessentia (3/4 oz)
  • 22ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (3/4 oz)
  • Ice, for shaking
  • Garnish: lemon twist

Instructions

  1. Combine bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Structurally a descendant of the Last Word (also equal parts). Named for the M.I.A. song 'Paper Planes'. Amaro Nonino is essential — substituting other amari changes the profile dramatically.
