★☆☆☆☆
Prep: 5 mins Cook: None Serves: 1

  • 45ml vodka (1 1/2 oz)
  • 45ml freshly pulled espresso, cooled (1 1/2 oz)
  • 30ml Baileys Irish Cream (1 oz)
  • 15ml coffee liqueur, such as Carolans or Kahlúa (1/2 oz)
  • 2ml simple syrup (1/2 tsp)
  • Ice, for shaking
  • Garnish: 3 coffee beans

Instructions

  1. Combine vodka, espresso, Baileys, coffee liqueur, and simple syrup in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake hard for 15 seconds until a thick foam forms.
  3. Double-strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
  4. Float 3 coffee beans on top as garnish.
Family variant — Dick Bradsell's original 1983 Espresso Martini (Soho Brasserie, London) did not include Baileys; it was vodka, Tia Maria/Kahlúa, espresso, and sugar syrup. Adding Baileys makes this a creamier dessert-style riff.
