Homemade Cornbread

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 cup cornmeal, spooned and leveled
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk or buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter or neutral oil, plus more for pan
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- Whisk together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
- In a separate bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, sugar, and honey.
- Add wet to dry and mix until just combined. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 25-35 minutes, until top springs back and toothpick comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes before slicing.
