Hazelnut Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups hazelnuts, toasted and chopped (473 ml)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (237 ml)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (118 ml)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (118 ml)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (2.5 ml)
  • 1/4 cup honey (59.1 ml)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (59.1 ml)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).\n2. Combine flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt in a medium bowl. Press into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.\n3. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.\n4. While the crust is baking, combine honey and heavy cream in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. \n5. Stir in hazelnuts. Pour mixture over the baked crust.\n6. Bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the topping is set.\n7. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
