Apple Dutch Baby

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (59.1 ml)
- 1 large sweet apple (e.g., Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (118 ml)
- 1/2 cup milk (118 ml)
- 4 large eggs
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar (44.4 ml)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (4.9 ml)
- 1/4 tsp salt (1.2 ml)
- Confectioners' sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) with the oven rack in the middle position.\n2. Bring eggs and milk to room temperature.\n3. Melt butter in a 9-inch oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Transfer 2 Tbsp to a blender. \n4. Add apple slices to the skillet and cook, turning once, until they begin to soften, 3 to 5 minutes.\n5. While the apples are cooking, blend milk, flour, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla, and salt with the butter in the blender until smooth.\n6. Pour the batter over the apples in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the oven.\n7. Bake until puffed and golden brown, about 15 minutes. Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve immediately.
